The Practical Homeowner DIY – Cook • Tech • Handyman • Dad
I’ve lived in and maintained an older home for almost 30 years. Along the way I’ve broken things, fixed things, bought junk tools, found great ones, and learned how to stretch a family budget in the kitchen and around the house.
HomeFixandFood is where I share what actually works in real life:
DIY and home maintenance that keeps an older house in good shape.
Tools and gadgets that are worth your money (and which ones aren’t).
Practical, cost-efficient cooking and food storage so less food – and money – goes to waste.
I’m not here to push every shiny gadget. I’m here to help you fix, cook, and manage your home smarter with gear that actually earns its place in your toolbox and kitchen.
Our mission
We're on a mission to change the way the housing market works. Rather than offering one service or another, we want to combine as many and make our clients' lives easy and carefree. Our goal is to match our clients with the perfect properties that fit their tastes, needs, and budgets.
Our vision
We want to live in a world where people can buy homes that match their needs rather than having to find a compromise and settle on the second-best option. That's why we take a lot of time and care in getting to know our clients from the moment they reach out to us and ask for our help.

One Man Team
I’m a long-time homeowner of an older house that I’ve managed to keep in solid shape for nearly 30 years. I’m also the one who fixes things, cooks most of the meals, and tests the tools and gadgets that come through the door.
Over the years I’ve:
Done my own basic repairs and maintenance.
Tried a lot of tools and home gadgets—some fantastic, some total mistakes.
Figured out simple, cost-efficient ways to stock the kitchen and manage food so we waste a lot less.
